Brigid Bishop's Tarot Thought for the Day

Brigid Bishop's Tarot Thought for the Day

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008, brings us under the influence of the Five of Cups.
This is a card that brings the energies of whether or not we are the type of person who sees the cup as half empty or half full.

The one word definition of this card boils down to "Disappointment".

A lone figure, shoulders bent, faces away from two cups that are still standing, containing the liquids of happiness and love, and focuses on three cups which have spilled and are laying on their sides. His body language is depressive, head bowed, shoulders bent, a sense of sadness comes off of the card as we view it.

The melancholy vibration of this card can indicate mourning over a loss or change within a relationship. This card indicates that the Querent may be dwelling on the negative and refusing to see the positive polar influence of each loss and change.

Remind ourselves that each change in our life brings an opportunity for growth and that we should try to focus on what yet remains, (the two standing cups), and not what we have lost.
The positive tone of this card is the ability to contemplate what one still has and move forward optimistically. All the figure in the card need do is turn around to see this.
